Blue Sky and the National Park Service Centennial

The Blue Sky Funders Forum inspires, deepens, and expands philanthropy to advance opportunities that connect people and nature and promote environmental literacy. Blue Sky provides learning opportunities to funders and facilitates collaboration between philanthropic organizations in order to build a broader, more diverse constituency for environmental issues and increase access to nature in all communities.

Blue Sky Shines highlights opportunities for Blue Sky members and other funders to support and strengthen connections between people and nature. By identifying promising programs and initiatives, this platform allows funders to leverage their impact by committing to support specific programs alongside other grantmakers. Funders are invited to search, view, and contribute to programs that fit their specific goals and interests.

This year, Blue Sky is proud to shine a spotlight on giving opportunities within the National Park Service in honor of its Centennial. Blue Sky and the National Park Foundation, the official philanthropic arm of the National Park Service, invite funders to join us in this historic national fundraising campaign as we launch a new era of park philanthropy.

To understand the critical needs across the national park system, the National Park Service and the National Park Foundation worked together to identify priority programs and initiatives in need of funding that, once funded, will strengthen and shape the national parks for the next 100 years. Projects include regional opportunities and large, national-level investments like wildlife conservation, trail rehabilitation, Every Kid in a Park, and the 21st Century Conservation Service Corps.
